Essex Junction is a village within the township of Essex Vermont. The majority of IBM is located in the Junction and has been instrumental in the creation of many of the residential neighborhood in the Junction and Town of Essex. Essex Vermont and the Village both share the same police force, assessor’s office and high school. Most other municipal services are separate (i.e. town clerks, zoning offices, fire departments, elementary and middle schools). Both Essex and the Village have wonderful parks and recreation departments. Essex town busses children to school; the Village still has several neighborhood schools without bussing.
